Body, Land, City Gate responds to the international collective performance art event "Same But Different (Equinox)." Performed at the North Gate in central Taipei, the work treats the body as a medium for history, memory, and the migration of matter. The North Gate serves as a temporal rift, connecting the transplanted materials of urban development with contemporary existence. The artist makes physical contact with ancient stone slabs, placing bricks (symbolizing the construction of civilization) on the abdomen while concealing the face under lilies (representing the resilience of resistance) to awaken land memories forgotten by the city. Subsequently, the artist stands on the bricks in a spread-eagle posture to form a barrier, eventually transforming the body into a "gate" to reveal history during the equinox. Finally, the artist shatters the bricks with a hammer, completing a silent dialogue with history and the land through the disintegration of matter.

《身、土地、城門》，此作品響應國際集體行為藝術活動：『相同但不同（秋分）於台北市的中心『北門』展開，將身體視為歷史、記憶與物質移徙的媒介。北門作為時空縫隙，連結城市發展中被移植的物質與當下的存在。藝術家以身接觸古老石板，腹部負載文明建構的磚塊，面部則隱匿於象徵抗爭韌性的百合下，藉此喚醒被都市遺忘的土地記憶。隨後，藝術家立於磚上以大字型姿態形成阻擋，最終將身體化為一道「門」，在秋分時刻讓歷史顯現。最後，藝術家以錘子擊碎磚塊，透過物質的崩解，完成對歷史與土地的無聲對話。

 

Same But Different (Equinox)

Is an international day for public actions for freedom for all people.

Each year on the Equinoxes, the duration of day and night is approximately equal around the globe. In this spirit of cosmic equality, the event serves as a global connection for people performing together in public spaces.

This sharing of time and space brings us closer together as a temporary (global) community by encouraging non-violent expressions for locally specific conditions through performance art.

Everyone is welcome to participate with openness and in solidarity, embracing and embodying diversity whilst acknowledging each other’s individual circumstances, difficulties, and conflicts.

是為所有人以公共行動爭取自由的國際日。每年的春/秋分，全球晝夜持續時間大致相同。本著這宏大的平等精神，該活動為在公共場所一起以行為藝術創作的人們，提供了全球性的聯繫。這種共享的時間和空間成為了臨時（全球）的社區，令我們更緊密地聯繫在一起，鼓勵通過行為藝術為當地特定的狀況作非暴力的表達。歡迎任何人士以開放和團結的態度參與、擁抱和體現多樣性，同時認知彼此特有的情況、苦困和矛盾。」
