In the past cultural activities
related to Jinguashi and Shuinan cave, besides human rights issues、the relationship between the natural environment and people is rarely discussed.
Artist Milla Lee’s mother is an Amis (Taiwan Aborigines )and her father is an Chinese Indonesians.
she often thinks about the relationship between herself, the land, and all things through performance works, which often reveals the perspective of ecofeminism (Ecofeminism or EcologicalFeminism) in her art.
He believes that the patriarchal value system in the past classified and materialized land resources into land and minerals,At the same time, people who originally have souls are regarded as slaves of matter.
Through performance works, the artist will re-dialog with the land, and through daily practice, embark on the path that miners used to transport ore in the past, encounter the land and stones that carry past history, and have a dialogue with them. By learning from the stones and the land, listening to the sounds of the stones, you can regain your original perception of being connected to all things. How do stones bear witness to the story and history of the land? How do stones communicate with people and land?
The artist proposes "how to become a stone" and uses the method of "daily actions" to record how to become a stone through text, installation, sound, video, etc. The occurrence and method of this "behavior" will continue to be updated during the exhibition. Through stones, we are led to open the door to consciousness, explore the nature of life beyond matter, and shift from human-centered thinking to behavioral creation and other concepts based on stone thinking to rethink the possibility of value. The exhibition will also have a dialogue with the audience. and interact with.
